Safety & security window film

A thick, clear film that holds glass together when it breaks. It buys time, keeps shards contained, and doesn't change how your windows look.

What security film does

Security film is a thicker, tougher clear film bonded to the inside of the glass. When the glass breaks, from an impact, a storm, a ball or an attempted break-in, the film holds the pieces together instead of letting them fall out or fly into the room.

What it doesn't do

Security film is not bulletproof, and it doesn't make glass unbreakable. What it does is make getting through broken glass slower and harder, and that time matters in a smash-and-grab. For more strength, film can be paired with an attachment system that anchors it to the window frame. We'll be straight with you about what fits your glass and your goal.

Where it's used

  • Storefronts and retail: street-level glass and doors.
  • Offices and lobbies: ground-floor glass and entry doors.
  • Homes: sliding patio doors, glass entry doors, basement and ground-floor windows.
  • Safety: glass near stairs, play areas and high-traffic spots, so broken glass stays put.

Combine it with other films

Security films come clear or with solar control built in, so one film can add strength and cut heat and glare. Street-level glass can also get anti-graffiti film on top.

Safety & security window film questions

Straight answers before anyone comes out to measure.

Is security film bulletproof?

No. It holds broken glass together and slows entry, but it does not stop bullets.

Will people be able to see it?

Clear security film looks like regular glass. It also comes with solar control tint if you want both.

How thick is security film?

It's several times thicker than standard window film. The right thickness depends on your glass and your goal, and we'll recommend one when we see the windows.
