Window film questions

Straight answers before anyone comes out to measure.

General

For home- or business-specific questions, see the residential and commercial pages.

Will window film make my rooms dark?

Only as dark as you choose. Light films block heat and glare while looking close to clear glass. We bring samples so you can see each one on your own windows before deciding.

Can people see in at night?

With reflective films, the privacy works one way during the day: you see out, people outside see a reflection. At night, when the lights are on inside, that flips and people can see in. For privacy around the clock, frosted or decorative film is the right choice, and we will point that out when we look at your windows.

Does window film block UV?

Yes. Most quality window films block over 99% of UV, which is a major cause of fading on floors, furniture, artwork and merchandise.

Will film affect my window warranty?

Some window manufacturers have rules about which films can go on their glass. We look at your glass type before recommending a film so the choice is compatible with your windows.

How long does installation take?

Most homes and small storefronts are done in a day. Larger commercial jobs are scheduled in phases, and we can plan around your business hours.

Do you work outside Chicago?

Yes. We cover all of Chicagoland, and we travel throughout Indiana and Wisconsin. A travel fee applies outside the Chicago area, and we include it in your estimate up front.

Can window film be removed later?

Yes. Film can be removed professionally and the glass cleaned, which makes it a good fit for renters and leased commercial spaces.
